Beautiful building and city. Love Detroit, home away from home. Lots to look at and visit and walk through the downtown area. While your walking you will meet nice and polite people on your journey like we did. Have fun and be safe!

I didn’t really explore the Renaissance Center. I went for a dental appointment, which didn’t require me to pass through much of it: however, from during prior visits I have always found it to be clean and well maintained. There are some retail stores, some restaurants and several GM vehicles are displayed in the lobby.

My husband, myself and our good friends spent the weekend in Detroit to attend both a Red Wings and a Lions game. The Renaissance Center is a very nice place to stay, plus it’s close to restaurants, bars and sports venues.

Great game tonight, great atmosphere, and a great experience. Only about 40% capacity tonight but it was a great night for baseball. The stadium needs a little bit of updating and some parts of the LED boards were burned out. Staff was pleasant and everyone kept things moving along quickly with screening and concessions.

The hotel had a great view, the stay was on the 14th floor. Room service had generous servings. The pancakes are omelets are huge so definitely share-able. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and stuff on Trumball Street but a 20 -30 minute walk to downtown Detroit. The room was clean and customer service was great. Would stay here again but maybe rent a car for ease of moving around the City.

The city of Detroit has done a great job on restoring Hart Plaza. New concrete throughout and the fountain partially works! More work is being performed but it was really good to see this awesome spot on the river front being used and fixed.

A while back I was going to Ceasars and to visit a friend in Windsor, Ontario. I’m a frequent traveler to Canada and most of the time the officers on the Canadian side are super friendly and cordial. However, one day on a routine crossing the woman at the booth was unusually vigilant in questioning me. When I didn’t just tell her everything she wanted to know immediately she sent me to secondary inspection, “we’re gonna have a look”. Most of the other officers were once again cordial but the lone female officer found my old cell phone that I keep in my gym bag for emergencies. She turned it on and asked for my password, I didn’t remember the password but could unlock it from muscle memory. I stepped off the curb to reach for the phone to unlock it for her, she then yelled “back on the curb!”. I put put one foot on the curb while backing up and she barked “all the way up!”. I wasn’t threatening her, just trying to unlock the phone. After I did she scrolled through my photos and saw my pictures from the Grand Canyon. Then proceeded to show her colleagues as if it was show ‘n tell. It’s one thing to look for security purposes but to pass my phone/ photos around from my vacation was unprofessional and an abuse of authority. I’m not misogynistic but on that day the 2 female officers that I encountered were unpleasant for whatever reason. I’m a frequent traveler and this wasn’t consistent with my other crossings before and after.

Detroit/Boarder Patrol Officers are the “BEST” public service agents when one is in need of clarification re-entering our country. My Nexus card reported having error; they resolved the issue state side without contest!!!

It's free, it's always open to the public, and it's beautiful. The halls are massive and the interior of the entrance has opulent, bright wall and ceiling tile. The ceiling of the adjoining first floor (and former main bank lobby) is covered in canvas giving a poor impression of what the former space might have looked like, but the space is equally as beautiful; there are this humongous colored glass block windows and brass and enameled features everywhere. Acknowledging its history, there are also diagrams and documents everywhere telling you a bit more about the space and engaging with that history.

A very cool (FREE) thing to spend time doing. Do it on the weekend when the first floor is empty of banking personnel and clients."},{"@type" : "Review","author" : {"@type" : "Person","name" : "James Palumbo"},"reviewRating" : {"@type" : "Rating","ratingValue" : "5", "bestRating" : "5"},"reviewBody" : "Stunning entryway. Incredible design and a great opportunity to glare into the history of mega-prosperous Detroit. Parking (as in most of the heart of downtown) can be challenging to find or even costly, but coming to the Guardian – particularly if you’re already going to the riverfront – is worth it.

The security and building staff were friendly and professional. My low review has nothing to do with them. The building’s staff do the best they can with the resources available to them.

The Penobscot has two elevator shafts, so you need to transfer elevators to get to floors 34-44. I got stuck in the elevators several times (once for over an hour). On multiple occasions I was required to take walk 10+ floors to my office when the tower elevator was inoperable.

During my last months there my suite had no running water. This meant I had to (hopefully) take two elevators to the 13th floor to use the restroom.

It’s a shame that this building has fallen into disrepair."},{"@type" : "Review","author" : {"@type" : "Person","name" : "cecil p"},"reviewRating" : {"@type" : "Rating","ratingValue" : "5", "bestRating" : "5"},"reviewBody" : "This building is only at 30% capacity. The heart is downtown Detroit! Campus Martius has everything you need for a good time. This most recent visit was for the “lazy car show” but we come several time a year for Christmas lights, skating and concerts. If you’re looking for something to do, or even just to find a spot and chill, Campus Martius usually has want you need to have some fun. Food or drinks too!!
