A landmark birthday celebration at the DuSable Museum required a design that felt both intimate and extraordinary, with a circular stage at the center, a florally drenched chandelier installation above, and panoramic visual storytelling surrounding the room. The goal: create one unified, atmospheric canvas where every direction felt like a hero view.
BlackOak Technical Productions engineered a perfectly balanced audio system in the round so every guest, regardless of table, seat, or vantage point, experienced full presence, tonal warmth, and uniform clarity. That meant custom tuning, a distributed PA strategy, and subwoofer alignment dialed specifically for this venue’s circular geometry.
Our video engineering team strategically placed projectors, not as an afterthought, but as architectural elements driving a full 360 immersive environment. We pre-mapped projection planes against scrims and sheer fabrics, ensuring we could paint the space in gradients, textures, and organic horizons.
Every content asset, every light cue, and every color story was selected and programmed to mirror the floral, palette, and design direction of the evening. We treated the room like a living moodboard: cinematic content transitions synced with lighting shifts, sunset palettes that slowly migrated to evening tones, and soft beam treatments that blended into the building’s natural wood structure, complimenting the design, rather than overshadowing it.
